Your Brand is Your Message…

Let’s talk about branding for a second. A lot of people think that your “brand” just means your logo/slogan. Not so! Your “brand” is your message: who you are as a business – and your promise to your customers. It is essential to have a brand because it 1.) establishes an emotional connection with your customers and 2.) it differentiates you from your competition. Your logo and slogan are the avenue where you communicate that message.

I’ve been having this conversation with clients a lot lately.  Most feel like if they don’t pack everything about their business into their name, they won’t communicate their brand effectively – but it’s so much more than that!

It’s about the “meat and bones” of your company – your promise – what you bring to the table…  The logo means nothing if people aren’t on board with what it stands for.   Don’t forget to communicate your message [brand] every day.

 Ask yourself the following:

  1. Who are we [as a business]?

     2. Who do we want to be as a business?

     3. How will/do people perceive us?

With all of this in mind, can you think of some examples of companies who have developed a great brand?

Still stuck?
